We were proud to participate in 42for42 this year and walk in honour of the Australian soldiers lost in Afghanistan and those suffering from mental health issues upon their return.
Our team participated in two groups, with one group walking in the morning and another in the afternoon. Each group carried 42 kilograms signifying each of those lost, and the weight was distributed across the team members with the requirement that it kept moving throughout the day.
“We would like to thank 42for42 for coordinating this great event and providing an opportunity for our BOH teams to play a part in honouring and respecting our fallen soldiers,” says BOH Chairman Dr Mark Elliott.
“Our teams carried the symbolic 42kg for eight hours and covered a total of 55km across the day. As a group, we felt very proud to make a small contribution to the fundraising that will eventually see the development of the Memorial Garden at Suncorp Stadium. Honestly, it felt great to be part of something bigger than us and part of the wider Brisbane community.”
We took photos throughout the day and you can view our gallery below – or find our album on facebook here.
