Dental Veneers Brisbane | Porcelain Veneers & Composite Veneers
Our patients often wish to treat chipped, broken or discoloured teeth or close gaps between front teeth. Veneers may be a successful treatment option for many of these patients, and BOH Dental is committed to providing strong, reliable and highly aesthetic veneer systems.
What are Dental Veneers?
Have you ever wondered how actors and models manage to keep their teeth so straight and white?
The answer is often dental veneers – a thin layer of material, typically porcelain or composite resin, attached to the surface of the tooth.
Closely mimicking natural teeth, a well-designed veneer is almost indistinguishable from the natural tones and contours of your smile. Veneers provide two key benefits, the restoration of the tooth surface and the ability to change the aesthetics of the teeth on which they are placed.
“Our patients often wish to treat chipped, broken or discoloured teeth – or to close gaps between front teeth. Veneers may be a successful treatment option for many of these patients, and BOH Dental is committed to providing strong, reliable and highly aesthetic veneer systems,” says Dr Elliott.

Porcelain Veneers & Composite Veneers
Modern dentistry has changed the options when it comes to veneer treatments, and never before has there been a range of materials available with the same natural beauty, value and performance.
At BOH Dental, we provide a full complement of dental veneers in Brisbane – including ceramic porcelain veneers and composite resin veneers, and your options are discussed in greater detail below.
Also known as composite resin veneers, these are a range of tooth coloured veneer materials that are placed directly on the tooth, like a filling, and set with a blue light.
The benefits of this procedure is the time requirement, with composite resin veneers typically placed in a much shorter time frame than porcelain veneers, which need to be individually hand-crafted by a dental technician.
Often, patients who choose composite resin veneer treatments can leave our practice with their composite veneers on the same day as their initial appointment. These are known as same-day veneers.
Porcelain veneers provide the highest quality restorative option for dental veneer treatment, and offer the best dental aesthetics and longest lifetime.
Porcelain is one of the best materials when it comes to matching natural teeth as these veneers have a great natural colour, and are stain resistant due to their non-porous nature. The shade and shine of porcelain matches natural teeth closely, and we recommend porcelain in situations where composite veneers are not suitable. For example, if a large area on a single tooth is receiving treatment, or if a number of teeth to be restored.
Ceramic veneers are made using traditional techniques and typically require multiple visits, so your tooth can be modelled and hand-crafted in our dental laboratory.
How are Dental Veneers made?
Our dental laboratory, Studio 12, is widely regarded for their high quality, attention to detail and wonderful craftsmanship. This means each of our veneers is locally sourced from our very own lab, and the quality control happens right in our practice by our trusted team – and you can see some of the process in our video below.
During your initial visit our dentists will create a dental impression to use as a foundation for your veneer treatment. Delivered to Studio 12, this impression allows our team of technicians to make sure your veneers match and enhance your beautiful, natural teeth in form and aesthetic.
Individually crafted by our lab team, each veneer is indistinguishable from your real smile. These veneers are fixed permanently (cemented) by our dentists at your next appointment. Depending on whether your veneers are porcelain or composite – the time required by our lab will differ and you can read more about this below.
Need to restore that smile quickly? We also offer a full range of temporary veneer options – a great intermediate treatment for emergency use and for patients that are waiting on their new veneers!
